    Cable TV Service (QCV)

    Qtel inaugurated the first Wireless Cable Television System, widely known as Qatar Cablevision (QCV) for delivering news, education, sports and entertainment television to citizens and many others living in Qatar.

    Qatar Cable Vision network underwent many changes. The company has worked hard to improve its service, using the latest technology and renewing its commitment to its customers in addition to a wider range of options.

    • The associated products and services are as follows:
    • QCV MMDS: Qtel inaugurated the first fixed Cable Television System, widely known as Qatar Cablevision (QCV) in June 1993, using distinguished and state-of-the-art technologies for delivering satellite television to homes in Qatar. The MMDS Multipoint Multi-channel Distribution System was applied.
    • QCV MVDS: Qtel inaugurated the first Wireless Cable Television System of its kind in the region and the second in Qatar in October 2000. This system is known as MVDS, which means Microwave Video Distribution System allowing greater channels capacity, more coverage and better picture quality.
