Dear friends,

      After listening to your Excellency’s expressive speech on the bonds of friendship and cooperation between our two friendly countries, I would like to express my great pleasure to be amongst you in your beautiful country, the country of civilization, tolerance and democracy.
      I would also like to extend to you and your friendly people my highest appreciation and gratitude for the warm welcome, and hospitality accorded to us, which has left the best impression on us.
      It also gives us pleasure that our visit is to further confirm the strength of the relations that link our two countries and peoples particularly that these relations in their historical, geographical, cultural and social aspects oblige us to exert more efforts to promote them on all levels.

Your Excellency, Mr. President

      In the last few years, ties between our two friendly countries have witnessed major progress, particularly in the field of cooperation in the Hydrocarbon sector, which was crowned with the signing of one of the biggest gas deals in the Asian continent between The Republic of India and the State of Qatar, in addition to the marked progress made in the level of trade exchange and volume of mutual investments.
      The project of exporting Qatari gas to India is the first LNG founding project between the developing countries. We are now looking forward with great interest and determination to executing all that contribute to activating fields of cooperation between our two countries, and enhancing the bonds of friendship and strategic partnership between them.
      Here, I would like to extend my special thanks to the Indian community in the State of Qatar, which has played an important role in the progress our country is witnessing. The performance of this friendly community was always marked with efficiency and dedication, in addition to being a good bridge of social and cultural communication between our two friendly peoples.

      We in the State of Qatar seek to achieve comprehensive development by utilizing in all national potentials, in anticipation of a better future, in which public participation is enhanced and the role of the institutions strengthened thus, guaranteeing the rights of citizens and equality of rights and duties before the law. Meanwhile, our efforts continue towards comprehensive economic development, including the development of the oil, gas and petrochemical sectors, and providing all mechanisms that ensure consolidation of the role of the private sector through creating the suitable environment for local and foreign investors.
      As we follow with pleasure the major progress that has been achieved by the friendly Republic of India in all fields, we have confidence in the ability of the Indian economy to achieve continuous progress, establishing its place as one of the world’s most prominent economies during the coming decades. Out of our belief in the importance of the interconnection of national economy with the international surrounding, and in view of the historical and friendly relations between the two countries and in order to achieve our common interests, I call for strengthening the bonds between our two countries and confirm our commitment to consider meeting India’s energy needs. I also call for promoting aspects of cooperation in all fields and in particular the information technology, human development and tourism sector.

      It is not a coincidence that our points of views are identical on many important international issues, especially that justice, democracy and the respect of human rights form a common dominator in our countries’ policies.
      In this context, we value the positive role that India plays to bring about peace and stability in the region of South Asia, and we also appreciate your friendly country’s efforts in supporting the peace process in the Middle East. We look forward to further cooperation and coordination to achieve our common goals in promoting peace and stability in our region and the world.
      Finally our friends, we extend our highest appreciation and affection and best wishes of progress and prosperity to you and your country and people.
