Doha, September 25 (QNA) - Arabic daily /al-Sharq/ hailed Qatar''s active diplomacy which was and still exerting efforts to solve regional problems, pointing out the Doha agreement which succeeded to achieve the Lebanese reconciliation and its current efforts aiming at resolving the Darfur crisis.
In its editorial today, al-Sharq noted the meetings held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session during which Qatar chaired the GCC states meetings with the Russian Federation and the European Union countries, as well as H.E. the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabor Al Thani''s meeting with US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
Qatar''s keenness to discuss international issues reflected its concern over latest developments in the world and the continuous success of its effective diplomacy, the paper said.
Al-Sharq saw that the coming days would witness active Qatari diplomatic moves in Darfur crisis and even in Somalia''s issue which might be solved by a Qatari mediation. (QNA)
