Manama, December 03 (QNA) - Opening of the new lecture hall of the Sheikh Ibrahim bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa center for culture and research will take place tomorrow, thursday, at 7pm at the premises of the Sheikh Ibrahim center in Muharraq. The Sheikh Ibrahim bin Mohammed al-khalifa center for culture and research is a private non-profit cultural organization and was founded in 2002. With its program of weekly lectures, debates and performances delivered by artists, speakers, philosophers, poets and thinkers from the region and all over the world, it has since become an active center for cultural exchange. Through the renovation of numerous traditional houses in Muharraq and Manama, the Sheikh Ibrahim Center has furthermore contributed to the conservation of Bahrainls architectural heritage.The cultural events hosted at these houses serve to emphasize their respective roles and histories, focusing on their original owners and inhabitants. The new lecture hall of the Sheikh Ibrahim Center is sponsored by Bahrain''s King Sheikh Hamad bin isa al Khalifa, and the architectural design was done by Davide Chiaverini of Pad, a Bahrain-based company specializing in architecture, interior design and urban planning. Coinciding with the opening of the new lecture hall the digital book the future comes from far will be launched, which will take visitors on a journey through the history and culture of bahrain.
