Paved roads are more than 1600 km long, 700 km of which are well-maintained dual carriageways.

    • Roads in Qatar fall into three categories:
    • Main (arterial) Roads: these dual or triple carriageways are strategic roads that link the capital with other regional centers in the country.
    • Minor Roads: they link main roads with each other, and serve the interior areas.
    • Access Roads: Such as circular roads, usually with dual or triple roads that are designed to make convenient, orderly and efficient traffic flow within residential, commercial and industrial areas on one hand, and the main and minor roads on the other.
