QNOC is an independent body which reports to the Emir, and is in charge of sports associations. It sponsors and supervises sports movements. It also helps in preparing national teams for participation in Arab and international tournaments. In a relatively short time, QNOC has set up a number of teams of different categories in different sports.
Qatar Olympic Committee supervises scores of sports establishments in the country, including 21 sports federations, 9 clubs in division one and 7 clubs in division two, for which the Committee has provided all human and material support so that they can carry out their mission in the best possible way.
There are various sports clubs in Qatar besides societies that sponsor talented youth. QNOC is chaired by H.H Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
