Industrial pollution is controlled at two levels: heavy industries are required to get consent of discharge before the project is set up, whereas medium and small industries are controlled through the annual evaluation of the commercial license granted by the concerned municipality. In both cases, the consent is issued after putting a time frame program for abidance by environmental standards and specifications.
Furthermore, institutions supervising heavy industries are required to submit a quarterly report about the control of emissions and solid wastes. This is part of the Environmental Management Plan which is periodically submitted to the Supreme Council for The Environment and Natural Reserves to be discussed with the concerned authorities.
