- Carrying out a 3-month clean-up campaign of the beaches.
- Setting up a permanent emergency committee, and allocating a permanent budget for its activities to ensure swift action to deal with Environmental disasters.
- Preparing a radiation map for the State of Qatar which would show the level of the radiation and its type in each zone.
- Obtaining the approval of The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to provide Qatar with four highly sophisticated devices to measure radiation, its types and intensity. IAEA has also agreed to grant scholarships to Qataris to obtain post-graduate qualifications.
- Organizing an exhibition and holding An International Scientific Symposium, Quest 2, on environmental sciences and technologies.
- Studying the draft law on protection against radiation which will determine the regulations for the import and export of radioactive substances for various uses, medical or industrial, and consequently to take the necessary action to regulate waste disposal.
