Over the past years, the sector of economy and commerce has undergone  a huge and unprecedented growth in Qatar's history.  The comprehensive development strategy adopted by the government resulted in building a solid and diversified economic base meaning to decrease the dependence on oil and natural gas and stand against the fluctuations of world economy.

In this respect, the state of Qatar prepared all the elements and required atmosphere to diversify the sources of national income, expand the economy's production base and develop the economic sectors in a comprehensive manner based on cooperation between the private and public sectors. Qatar also worked on preparing a favorable investment atmosphere to attract foreign capitals to invest in sustainable and comprehensive development projects, taking advantage of the country's stability.
