Oran, April 18 (QNA) - Algerian Minister of Energy and Mines Chakib Khelil launched here on Sunday the 10th ministerial Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) meeting, scheduled to be held from April 18 to 20. H.E. Qatar''s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy and Industry Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Attiyah, who leads Qatar''s delegation to the Forum, took part in the opening of the forum along with the Russian and Yemeni Ministers of energy. H.E. Al Attiyah toured the forum, including Qatar Petroleum (QP)''s exhibition space and was briefed on gas industry in terms of extraction, transportation and distribution. The Deputy Premier and Minister of Energy and Industry arrived in Algiers on Saturday evening leading Qatar''s delegation to the 16th gas international conference and the 10th ministerial forum of Liquefied gas exporting countries which kicked off here today. 

Qatar's Deputy Premier Issues Remarks

Algiers, April 18 (QNA) - H.E. Qatar's Deputy Premier and Minister of Energy and Industry  Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah  said the 10th ministerial meeting of gas exporting countries, to be  held in the Algerian  city of Oran,  will  discuss all  matters  that lead to achieve fair  and sustainable gas prices, noting in this regard that gas prices should be linked to oil prices.
H.E. al Attiyah said in a statement to reporters that the Ministerial Forum will discuss a number of topics on the agenda, most important of which are how to get fair prices for gas as well as ways to achieve a stability in the gas markets through fruitful cooperation with consumers and persuade them that is the basis for creating the favourable climate that will help promote investment and provide quantities of gas needed by the global economy in the future.
H.E. the Deputy Premier and Minister of Energy and Industry said:  "We are looking for reasonable and fair prices for gas compared to oil prices". (QNA)
